Letters from the Mothers, National Assembly
Share
That day, at the National Assembly, artists read letters from mothers whose children were victims of incest.
Words that have been kept quiet for too long, brought to life by the Incesticide Collective , at the initiative of Sihem Ghars and with the support of MP Sandrine Josso .
160,000 children are victims each year.
And so little justice.
A massive, institutional, political silence.
In France, there is still no word to describe the rape of a child.
And incest is not a stand-alone crime in the Penal Code.
So photography becomes a relay act. And to say again and again that what is silent, kills.
Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, Marine Delterme , accompanied by artists, actors and committed personalities — among them Lucie Lucas, Jeanne Damas, Sally, Arié Elmaleh, Nagui…
Committed to the recognition of incestuous violence in France.
