Out of town (Japan, Tokyo)

Night in Tokyo doesn't erase anything—it reveals. From above, the Shinjuku towers on one side and the Tokyo Tower on the other mark an urban landscape saturated with brilliance. No pause, no silence: each light remains lit like the extension of a thought, a code, an existence. In the sky, red dots blink rhythmically. These aren't stars: they're obstruction lights , the luminous signals imposed by aviation regulations to prevent collisions in a city where skyscrapers hover over the air corridors.

The 333-meter-high Tokyo Tower was inspired by the Eiffel Tower but repainted red and white, as required by Japanese safety standards. Since 1958, it has been more than just a landmark: it has stood guard, almost like a technological totem.

This image shows no one. Yet it contains everyone. For here, density becomes presence. And Tokyo, more than a city, becomes an awakened entity, a sleepless consciousness.
