In Moroccan souks , displaying the camel's head is nothing spectacular: it is a common practice aimed at guaranteeing the origin of the meat sold. Camel meat , low in fat, rich in iron and protein, is valued in certain traditional medicines for its supposed effects on diabetes , joint pain or even digestive disorders . However, it remains an occasional consumption, often associated with particular moments or certain regions such as Fez .
