In the medina of Chefchaouen , blue is not just a color: it is a language. Likely inherited from Jewish, Sufi or even Andalusian traditions, this very particular shade would be, according to some historians, a way of keeping mosquitoes away or of symbolizing the sky and the divine. But in these blue alleys of the Moroccan Rif , it is the silences that speak the loudest. This corner of shadow , left to the raking light, reveals an aesthetic of emptiness: one where the human no longer appears, but where each object - here, a simple chair - still bears the trace of the living. A scene halfway between documentary photography and visual art , which questions our relationship to everyday life, to place, and to waiting.
