Indifference for sale (France, Paris)

France was the first country in Europe to enshrine the “enforceable right to housing” (DALO) in 2007. But nearly twenty years later, more than 330,000 people are homeless , according to the Abbé Pierre Foundation – three times more than in 2001 .

At the same time, fashion brands display up to 24 collections a year in their windows, fueling a purchasing cycle that has become a ritual. We talk about “fast fashion,” but it’s mainly the gaze that has accelerated : we see without looking.

The photography here does not document misery, but the social architecture of blindness . The sidewalk as an airlock between the desirable and the undesirable. A smooth, backlit border, where humans become decoration – or obstacle .

It is not poverty that is shocking: it is its proximity to abundance that no longer bothers anyone.
