The tank depicted here is a Soviet T-34/76 , an iconic model of the Second World War, produced in over 57,000 units between 1940 and 1946. Deployed during the Battle of Berlin in 1945 , it symbolized the military power of the Red Army and the fall of the Third Reich. This specimen, exhibited at the entrance to the Soviet memorial in the Tiergarten , was one of the first armored vehicles to enter the German capital during the final capture.

The obsolete cannon and frozen tracks today recall the frozen state of history in urban memorials. A bird perched on the cannon barrel disrupts the frozen perception of this machine, highlighting the dissonance between the memory of conflict and the silent presence of life.
